The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)® is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security
professionals and practitioners. It provides educational forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge,
skill and professional growth of its members. With active participation from individuals and chapters all over the world, the ISSA is the
largest international, not-for-profit association specifically for security professionals. Members include practitioners at all levels of
the security field in a broad range of industries, such as communications, education, healthcare, manufacturing, financial and government.
The ISSA international board consists of some of the most influential people in the security industry, with representatives from Dell Computer
Corporation, EDS, Forrester Research Inc., Symantec and Washington Mutual. With an international communications network developed throughout
the industry, the ISSA is focused on maintaining its position as The Global Voice of Information Security. The primary goal of the ISSA is to
promote management practices that will ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information resources. The ISSA facilitates

It is Infragard’s goal to improve and extend information sharing between private industry and the government, particularly the
FBI, when it comes to critical national infrastructures. InfraGard is an organization dedicated to the protection of the United States and the
American people. In order to maintain a level of trust within the membership, all applicants undergo a background check performed by the FBI
(for this reason InfraGard membership is currently limited to United States citizens). Applications are then screened according to a defined
criteria and then passed to the local chapter for final acceptance (individual chapters may have more strict criteria). For information on

ASIS International, with more than 33,000 members, is the preeminent international organization for professionals responsible
for security, including managers and directors of security. In addition, corporate executives and other management personnel, as well as
consultants, architects, attorneys, and federal, state, and local law enforcement, are becoming involved with ASIS to better understand

The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc. [(ISC)2] is a not-for-profit organization incorporated under the laws
of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. As such, all credential holders in good standing are considered members of
(ISC)2. (ISC)2 is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the (ISC)2 CBK®, a compendium of industry best practices for information security,
including those for CISSPs, SSCPs, and CAPs. The CBK is a critical component for certifying the minimum acceptable competence for professionals
seeking to hold various credentials. (ISC)2 also provides the information security community with education seminars, examinations and related
services. In addition, (ISC)2 acts to safeguard certification standards, and participates in information security conferences, etc., as some of

The Texas Association of Regional Councils (TARC) was organized in 1973 by interlocal agreement among Texas' 24 regional councils
of governments. The statewide association assists the regional councils in strengthening their capabilities to serve their local government members;
provides a forum for the regular exchange of information and ideas; educates other governmental entities, public and private organizations, and the
general public about the services and functions of regional councils; and represents the councils before both state and federal agencies and

The Association of Contingency Planners is the nation's leading non-profit association, comprised of professionals who are responsible

The South Texas Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) is a non-profit organization of information security professionals
and practitioners. South Texas ISSA provides education forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities which enhance the knowledge, skill
and professional growth of its members. This Chapter is affiliated with the international ISSA organization, conforms to its professional and
organizational guidelines, and supports the ISSA Code of Ethics. We encourage our members to pursue and maintain formal security certifications
